Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Brent seeking a DT Technician to join their Design & Technology department on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting practical lessons and ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment for students. DT Technician - Role Overview As a DT Technician, you will support the smooth running of the Design & Technology department across KS3 and KS4. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons Supporting teachers and students during workshop-based activities Maintaining and organising machinery, tools, and stock Ensuring all equipment is safe, clean, and in good working order Assisting with demonstrations and practical tasks where required Monitoring and managing stock levels, placing orders where necessary Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times Supporting with risk assessments and safe working practices Maintaining a tidy, safe, and efficient workshop environment Requirements Previous experience working in a school or workshop environment (desirable) Strong practical skills (woodwork, metalwork, or resistant materials preferred) Good understanding of health and safety procedures within a workshop setting Organised, proactive, and able to manage workload effectively Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills and a willingness to support students Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) xehkeey What's on Offer A supportive and well-resourced secondary school in Brent Full-time role: Monday to Friday, term-time only Opportunity to work within a creative and hands-on department A key support role contributing to engaging and practical learning Ongoing training and professional development Potential for a long-term or permanent position How to Apply If you are a DT Technician or have relevant practical experience and are looking for a full-time opportunity in Brent starting ASAP, we would love to hear from you.
