EAL Teaching Assistant – SEN Support

Location: Brent, North West London
Start Date: ASAP Start
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Brent. This role involves supporting pupils with EAL alongside those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing targeted 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum and achieve their potential.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with EAL and SEN
• Support pupils’ language development, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
• Deliver targeted interventions to support learning, communication, and emotional regulation
• Assist with behaviour management and encourage positive engagement
• Support access to the curriculum across EYFS to Year 6
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Promote independence, social skills, and confidence in learning
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience supporting pupils with EAL and SEN in primary or nursery settings in the UK
• Knowledge of SEN strategies, differentiation, and inclusive teaching
• Patient, compassionate, and resilient approach
• Confident delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
