Early Years Practitioner – Level 2 / Level 3

Location: Westminster, London Start Date: ASAP Contract: Long-Term (Until July 2026) – Potential Permanent Role Salary: Competitive daily rate

A welcoming and well-resourced two-form entry primary school in Westminster is looking for a Level 2 or Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner to join their Early Years Foundation Stage team immediately.

This is a long-term opportunity until the end of the academic year, with the potential to continue in September and become a permanent role for the right candidate.

The school is known for its strong community atmosphere, supportive leadership and lovely children. Staff work collaboratively and are passionate about providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where young learners can thrive.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with Nursery or Reception aged children and wants to be part of a friendly, supportive school team.

The Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS learning activities • Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment • Support children with early development, play-based learning and social skills • Assist with phonics, early literacy and numeracy activities • Work both 1:1 and with small groups of pupils • Encourage independence, confidence and curiosity in young learners

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification • Experience working with children in EYFS, nursery or early years settings • A positive, caring and proactive attitude • Good communication and teamwork skills • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one) • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
