University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust (Bristol site) seeks applicants for Post-F2 Clinical Education Fellows to commence in August 2026 for one year. These posts provide an ideal opportunity for the successful candidates to work in a busy inner city university hospital and be part of the Postgraduate Medical Education Faculty.

Main duties of the job

The posts comprise 50% clinical service in the haematology/oncology SDEC unit. The remaining 50% of the time will be non-clinical and focused on medical education. This time is individualized, giving the opportunity to develop your CV in undergraduate and/or postgraduate medical education, research and/or service development. There may be the opportunity to spend this time in the Bristol Medical Simulation Centre, subject to interview.

The post also includes home fees paid to study for a Certificate in Medical Education at the University of Bristol's Teaching and Learning for Health Professionals (TLHP) department.

The appointments will be subject to the Terms and Conditions of Service of Trust grade Doctors (2017) and may be subject to amendment.

Qualifications and Training

  • MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification.
  • Completion of Foundation Training Year 2 level (or equivalent).
  • Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • MRCP part 1.
  • Experience of working in the NHS (not including NHS observerships).

Knowledge and Experience

  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice including good clinical care and maintaining good medical practice.
  • Evidence of effective teamworking in a clinical setting.
  • Evidence of experience and enthusiasm for teaching.
  • Participation in clinical audit.
  • Publication in peer-reviewed journal.

Skills and Abilities

  • Is up to date and fit to practise safely.
  • Meets professional health requirements (in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice).
  • Undertaken additional teaching courses or qualifications.

Additional and Aptitudes

  • Be able to speak fluent English to an appropriate standard.
