JOB SUMMARY:
Assist in the development of, as well as enforce company health and safety guidelines. Individual will also inspect workspaces to ensure they are up to safety standards, as well as provide safety and on-going training.
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:
Assists in the development and implementation of environmental, health and safety programs, policies, procedures and provide training to all employees on compliance requirements. Conduct hazard analysis, provide safety statistics and recommend corrective measures and plan modifications. Investigate accidents to determine the cause and prepare the necessary reports and otherwise maintain constant surveillance to detect unsafe conditions and recommend corrections. Coordinate the activities of the safety committee and all safety regulatory compliance requirements while creating a culture of employee engagement. Runs emergency drills to gauge employee readiness. Conduct periodic inspections of all equipment to ensure conformity with safety regulations, use of personal equipment, machine guards, etc. Assists in environmental oversite, monitoring, and recordkeeping of programs required. Process workers compensation documentation. Maintain relative safety logs and metrics including the OSHA required logs. Assist in emergency response and provide first aid guidance. Is responsible for adhering to all rules, regulations, policies, programs and related Quality Management System including SQF, HACCP and GMP to ensure safety and quality of products.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, or related field required. Certified Safety Professional status . 0-5 years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience . A background in implementing behavioral-based safety techniques . This position requires 20% - 30% day travel to our manufacturing locations in Wisconsin. Working knowledge with Microsoft Office.
