Job Description
Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across a number of marine and defence related areas. Due to recent projects won they now require an Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy North East office. \n \nThe Role\n \nElectrical Design.\nSpecification Writing.\nSpecifying of parts.\nCosting of Projects.\nTechnical Support to Customers.\nInspection and Test / FAT writing.\nworking on Electrical Department Standardisation and Efficiency Initiatives.\nUndertake the electrical design of work packs or projects with minimal supervision.\nDelivery of complex engineering solutions to agreed time scales and budgets.\nAbility to estimate, forecast, plan and execute to agreed plans.\nProvide technical support and guidance for commissioning and installation activities.\n \nThe Person\n \nDegree or Diploma qualified\nRecent experience of a similar role in a bespoke engineering environment\nExperienced in designing:\nPower distribution systems at both 230V & 440VAC\nMachine control and instrumentation systems\nControl Panel design\nMotor starter or VSD design\nExperienced in Electrical CAD packages.\nExperienced in working to ISO9001 or equivalent in a project based organization\nEplan Electric P8 experience\nPrevious experience within the Marine / Offshore environment\nWorking knowledge of DNV GL & Lloyds rules\nExperience of working with Subsea Vehicles including design of High Voltage systems\nKnowledge & experience of relevant functional safety standards (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC13849)\nCommissioning & Test experience (advantageous)\nA high level of competence with IT systems and tools
