Electrical Design Engineer – Automation & Robotics Solutions

Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical controls for special purpose equipment, ensuring designs meet cost targets, project schedules, and requirement specifications.
- Design electrical systems and control panels to relevant standards and customer specifications, considering reliability, ease of assembly, and serviceability.
- Support the business in identifying standard assemblies to drive efficiencies across the mechanical design department.
- Stay updated with UK, European, and international legislation changes.
- Create necessary documentation to support machine design, build, installation, and commissioning.
Skills, Experience, and Education
- Communication: Confidently communicate design choices and progress to the project team, and create technical documentation and reports.
- Knowledge and Expertise: A relevant Engineering degree in Controls or Electrical Engineering is , with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in electrical design engineering.
- Innovation: Understand detailed customer technical specifications, generate concepts with cross-functional team members, and perform detailed design including wiring schematics and panel layout diagrams.
- Business Impact: Make reasoned design and product support decisions that align with the organisation’s goals, understanding the broader business environment.
Accountabilities
- Complete assigned tasks to the agreed schedule and report progress.
- Occasionally lead specific tasks as appointed by the Project Manager or Design Office Manager.
