EICA Design Engineer – Water Industry
Hybrid working | £50,000 – £55,000 basic salary | 23 days holiday + bank holidays
Are you an experienced Design Engineer with a background in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (EICA)? Looking for a hybrid role where you can take ownership of innovative design work across water-based projects? If so, this could be the opportunity for you.
We're looking for a skilled EICA Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking and collaborative team delivering detailed designs for manufacture and construction in the water sector. You’ll work on a wide range of interesting projects, supporting delivery from concept through to completion.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Develop detailed designs for water and process-based plants and systems
*
Create scopes and specifications for subcontractor packages
*
Liaise with suppliers to assess and specify technical requirements
*
Produce electrical calculations, data sheets, schedules, drawings, and design documents
*
Support internal and client design reviews, as well as HAZOPs
*
Contribute to a BIM-based collaborative design environment
*
Ensure design deliverables are ready for construction and support on-site teams
*
Support continuous improvement and maintain QA standards across projects
What We’re Looking For:
*
Strong background in electrical, instrumentation, and control engineering
*
Degree / HND / HNC in a relevant discipline
*
Ability to carry out hand calculations confidently
*
Experience with design documentation and document management systems (e.g., ProjectWise)
*
Confident communicator – both written and verbal
*
Full UK driving licence
*
IT-literate with a solid understanding of engineering tools and systems
