Our client is a leading Building Services/MEP contractor with a reputation for delivering high quality projects throughout the UK.

Due to a securing several high profile projects they now would like to appoint a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineering Design Lead to spearhead the technical delivery of complex engineering projects.

This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker who can balance high-level system architecture with rigorous technical detail, ensuring all designs meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and innovation.

The Role

The successful candidate will act as the primary technical authority within the department, guiding a multidisciplinary team through the full project lifecycle—from initial feasibility studies to final commissioning.

• Technical Leadership: Overseeing the production of detailed electrical design packages, including LV/MV distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.

• Team Management: Mentoring a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous professional development and technical excellence.

• Quality Assurance: Ensuring all designs comply with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and other relevant UK and international standards.

• Project Integration: Collaborating closely with mechanical, civil, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration and clash detection.

• Client Liaison: Acting as the lead technical point of contact for stakeholders, providing expert advice and presenting complex design solutions clearly.

The Person

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels. They are a natural problem-solver who remains calm under pressure and demonstrates a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.

• Education: A degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng or MEng) or a related discipline.

• Experience: Extensive experience in a senior or lead design capacity within the [Insert Industry

• Software Proficiency: Mastery of industry-standard design tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, Amtech (ProDesign), or Revit MEP.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Health and Safety legislation, including CDM 2015 regulations.
