Electrical EstimatorBedfordshire | Full-Time | Permanent | £45,000 - £55,000 We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a growing electrical contractor working across commercial refurbishment and fit-out projects. This is a permanent opportunity for an estimator with strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and experience pricing electrical works within the construction sector. The role is primarily office-based in Bedfordshire, with occasional travel for site surveys, client meetings and tender reviews. Projects typically include commercial offices, education, leisure and hospitality environments, and the successful candidate will play a key role in producing accurate tenders and supporting work-winning activity.Electrical Estimator - Role OverviewAs Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive and commercially sound tenders for a range of commercial electrical projects. You will review drawings and specifications, manage enquiries, obtain supplier and subcontractor pricing, prepare tender submissions, and support handover to the delivery team once projects are secured.Electrical Estimator - Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed electrical estimates and tender submissionsReview drawings, specifications and employers requirementsIdentify discrepancies, gaps and commercial risks within tender documentsRaise and manage RFIs with clients, consultants and design teamsSource competitive prices from suppliers and wholesalersIssue subcontractor enquiries and assess returned quotationsProduce bills of quantities, schedules of work and pricing documentsSupport final tender review process and commercial sign-offPrepare offer letters including exclusions, clarifications and programme detailsManage multiple tenders at various stagesSupport project handover to operations and project delivery teamsAssist with variations and ongoing commercial support where requiredElectrical Estimator - RequirementsMinimum 3 years experience as an Electrical EstimatorPrevious experience within electrical contracting or building servicesStrong technical knowledge of electrical installations, materials and methodsGood understanding of BS 7671Experience using estimating softwareGood Microsoft Office skillsStrong communication, organisation and time management skillsFull UK driving licenceDesirableExperience using Ensign estimating softwareBackground in commercial refurbishment, fit-out or M&E projectsExperience pricing variations and supporting live projects commerciallySalary & Benefits£45,000 - £55,000 per annumCompany pension28 days holiday including bank holidaysCompany mobile phone and IT equipmentMileage reimbursement for site visitsOngoing training and developmentCompany events Location: This role is based in Bedford and is mainly office-based but can offer hybrid 1 or 2 days per week, with some travel required for site visits and tender-related meetings.
