ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
Job Title – Electrical Maintenance EngineerLocation – WiganSalary – £46,855 – £49,855Shift – 3 Shift Pattern (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm / 10pm–6am)
Job Role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated, fast-paced manufacturing site. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a large-scale production environment featuring one of the most advanced corrugation operations in Europe.
The successful engineer will be working within a high-speed production area, responsible for maintaining and improving machinery that produces up to 26,000 units per hour. This is a dynamic role offering a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and involvement in continuous improvement and project work.
You will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency across a range of automated machinery in a lean manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical fault finding on high-speed production machinery Planned preventative and reactive maintenance Working with systems including sensors, motors, drives, and control panels Diagnosing faults across single-phase and three-phase (415V) systems Working with AC/DC systems, inverters, and PLCs (Siemens) Reading and interpreting engineering drawings Using CMMS systems (Maximo) Supporting installations, upgrades, and project work Identifying root causes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Electrical maintenance experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Requirements for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Hands-on electrical fault-finding experience Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) Experience working in industrial/manufacturing environments Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills and proactive mindset
Desirable Requirements
Experience with Siemens PLCs (fault finding) Background in high-speed or automated manufacturing Continuous improvement experience
