Description

As the Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will be tasked with the following;

The Maintenance Team support and maintain a range of blown film extruders of various sizes, converting machines, recycling machines, and a range of ancillary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, resin silos with blowers & connections to the extruders, inline printers, and inline embossing units.

The Maintenance Team also covers the building and services, and we also have a number of contractors and service partners who support the maintenance activities.

Electrical Maintenance

Perform planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime. Work with motors, drives, control panels, sensors, PLC systems, and associated electrical components. Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals. Carry out installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and upgrades.Fault Finding & Troubleshooting

Identify root causes of electrical failures and implement corrective actions. Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring faults and recommending solutions. Use testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, and other diagnostic tools.Health & Safety Compliance

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety standards. Maintain a safe working environment at all times.Preventative Maintenance & Reliability

Support and execute preventative maintenance schedules. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Assist in improving equipment reliability and performance.Collaboration

Work closely with mechanical engineer, production teams, and other departments. Support production teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency. Participate in maintenance planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Profile

A successful Electrical Maintenance Engineer should have:

Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering) Strong electrical fault-finding skills Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial electrical systems Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or facilities environment Strong problem-solving skillsDesirable

18th Edition Wiring Regulations PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.) Experience with automation systems Experience with CMMS systems Multi-skilled (basic mechanical knowledge)
