Your new companyYou'll be joining a major UK operator within the heavy industrial and port-related sector. The business manages large-scale plant and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient movement and processing of materials. You'll be part of a dedicated engineering function focused on maintaining high levels of reliability, safety and operational performance.Your new roleAs an Electrical Technician, you'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of plant, machinery and control systems. Working both independently and as part of a team, you'll ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and compliant with site procedures.Key responsibilities include:Performing hands-on maintenance, fault-finding and repairs on electrical systems and industrial machineryResponding efficiently to unplanned breakdowns to minimise downtimeIsolating equipment safely and following site permit-to-work processesUpdating job cards, maintenance logs and reporting any parts or materials requiredSupporting continuous improvement and contributing to operational planningCollaborating closely with engineering, operations and external contractorsMaintaining a strong personal safety culture and promoting safe working practicesWhat you'll need to succeed NVQ Level 3 in an electrical discipline plus a completed apprenticeshipA HNC or equivalent is desirable but not essential.Experience maintaining electrical systems in a heavy industrial environment (e.g., manufacturing, processing, ports, mining, aggregates)Strong understanding of control systems and PLCsExcellent electrical fault-finding abilityAbility to work at heights and in physically demanding conditionsStrong communication skills and the confidence to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentFull UK driving licenceWhat you'll get in returnYou'll join a supportive engineering team in a highly varied industrial environment, with opportunities to broaden your skills, contribute to site improvements and take on further training.
