Electrical & Mechanical Estimator – 6 Month Contract\n\nLocation: Sheffield\nContract Length: Minimum 6 months\nDay Rate: £380 – £400 per day (DOE)\nStart Date: Immediate\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nWe are working with a well-established specialist M&E subcontractor delivering a range of projects across the retail and warehousing sectors. Projects include both new build and refurbishment schemes, with values ranging from £250k to £5 million.\n\nDue to continued workload, they are seeking an experienced Electrical & Mechanical Estimator to support the pre-construction and commercial teams on a contract basis.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Preparing accurate mechanical and electrical cost estimates across all project stages\n\n * Producing feasibility and concept budgets\n\n * Managing pre-construction estimating activities\n\n * Pricing variations and supporting commercial negotiations\n\n * Assisting with final accounts as required\n\n * Working collaboratively with design, commercial, and delivery teams\n\nExperience & Technical Knowledge Required\n\nProven Experience In:\n\n * Building services / M&E contracting environment\n\n * Pre-construction estimating\n\n * Feasibility and concept budgeting\n\n * Variation pricing\n\n * Final account support\n\nStrong Technical Understanding Of:\n\nMechanical:\n\n * Plant schedules and factors\n\n * Heating and chilled water systems\n\n * Ventilation systems and ductwork\n\n * Sanitaryware and drainage\n\n * Valves, isolation, brackets, and fixings\n\n * Insulation\n\n * Design responsibility splits across trades\n\nElectrical:\n\n * Electrical distribution boards\n\n * Containment strategies\n\n * Cabling\n\n * Lighting and controls\n\n * Small power\n\n * Earthing and bonding\n\nQualifications\n\n * Degree in Engineering or NVQ equivalent\n\n * Minimum 3 years’ practical experience in an M&E estimating role\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Competitive day rate (£380–£400 DOE)\n\n * Long-term contract opportunity with immediate start\n\n * Exposure to a varied and consistent project pipeline
