Electrical Project Manager – Heathrow (Aviation/Airport Fit-Out Experience Essential)

Job Purpose

Designer Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager with a proven background in aviation or airport fit-out projects to join our Operations Department for a major project at Heathrow Airport. The Role

As Electrical Project Manager, you will lead the Heathrow project from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to strict quality and compliance standards. You will manage senior project personnel — including Site Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and departmental leads — to ensure all works meet the demanding requirements of an operational aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical delivery for a major Heathrow Airport fit-out project within an operational and safety-critical environment.
• Engage in pre-construction planning, design development, and value engineering, ensuring airport-specific compliance and stakeholder coordination.
• Manage procurement, including specialist subcontractors, equipment, and systems unique to aviation projects.
• Oversee installation to meet stringent airport safety, operational, and commissioning standards.
• Produce and maintain progress reports, including RFIs, procurement schedules, technical submittals, programme updates, and critical path tracking.
• Chair coordination meetings with design teams, subcontractors, and airport stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all airport and company health & safety procedures.
• Monitor resource usage and maintain rigorous cost control in collaboration with the Project QS.
• Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including airport authorities, client representatives, and subcontractor partners.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5–10 years’ experience in an M&E Project Manager role within an M&E contractor environment.
• Proven track record delivering aviation or airport fit-out projects.
• Strong understanding of airport-specific compliance, security protocols, and operational constraints.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex programmes with multiple stakeholders.
