Electrical Due Diligence Project Lead – London

The Opportunity

In this role, you will lead electrical due diligence activities for major data centre developments across EMEA. You’ll guide clients through complex technical, regulatory, and grid‑related challenges, shaping early‑stage decisions that influence the future of digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Due Diligence & Feasibility

• Lead electrical due diligence for potential data centre sites across EMEA.
• Assess electrical connection risks and evaluate site suitability.
• Provide strategic input on grid connections, capacity, and constraints.
• Manage feasibility studies and advise on electrical design requirements during site selection.

Project Management

• Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines for early‑stage development.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineers, planners, and environmental specialists.
• Ensure due diligence outputs support successful site acquisition and project progression.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact during due diligence and planning phases.
• Communicate complex technical issues clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Provide strategic advice on connection agreements and TSO/DSO risks.

About You

Qualifications & Technical Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Power Engineering, or similar.
• Working towards (or willing to work towards) CEng status.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical connection agreements and grid‑related risks.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations relevant to data centre development.
• Experience with LV/HV power distribution design, load calculations, and earthing/grounding systems.
• Familiarity with UPS systems, generators, and renewable integration (advantageous).
• Ability to interpret technical reports and translate findings into actionable strategies.

Professional Skills

• Excellent project management skills: budgeting, scheduling, resource planning.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience leading electrical design on complex projects.
• Ability to coordinate with mechanical, civil, and controls disciplines, as well as contractors and regulators.
• Background in consulting or construction preferred.
• Experience in data centre design or large industrial/warehouse projects is highly desirable.
• Commitment to ethical practice and professional standards.
