Commercial Electrician - 3 Nights Away, Home Thursday Night
Typical earnings: around £4,400 per month based on a 50-hour week
Our client is looking for a fully qualified electrician to join their business in a permanent, full-time role.
This position focuses on commercial and industrial installation work across mainland UK. A large proportion of projects take place in automotive workshop environments, although the role is not limited to this sector. The work involves structured installation projects, working away during the week, and being part of a team that takes pride in delivering high standards.

Working Pattern
Most weeks follow a consistent structure:
Travel Monday morning
Working away Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night
Home Thursday nightThis means 3 nights away per week (not 4).
Between Monday and Thursday, you will typically work around 50 hours, providing strong earning potential while still allowing for a 3-day weekend.
Friday is generally a rest day. Occasionally, optional local work may be available.
Pay and Package
£18.50 per hour basic rate (JIB rate)
Higher starting rate available for electricians with 2391 / Approved Electrician status (typically from £20 per hour)
Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours
Typical gross monthly earnings around £4,400 (based on 50 hours/week)
£20 per night away allowance
Accommodation arranged and paid (Airbnb style where possible, or hotel if required)
Company van provided

Travel and Accommodation
When working away:
Time is recorded from the company yard in Cottingham
Engineers clock on when leaving the yard Monday morning
Clock off/on when arriving/leaving accommodation
Clock off upon return to the yard at the end of the week
The Role
You will carry out commercial and industrial electrical installation work as part of the installation team.
Typical Duties:
Electrical installations linked to specialist equipment
Power supplies and connections
Containment and wiring
Working in live commercial environments requiring planning and organisation
Leading a junior electrician or mate on siteInitially, you will work alongside an experienced lead engineer to learn company processes before progressing to lead your own small team.
You will join an established installation division, working alongside multiple teams on projects across the UK.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
Fully qualified electrician status
NVQ Level 3, AM2, and 18th Edition
Full UK driving licence
Minimum 1 year experience as a lead electrician on site
Experience supervising or leading a team
Commercial or industrial installation experience
Willingness to work away Monday-Thursday most weeks
