Job Description
Salary: £45,000-£55,000 (dependant on experience)
We are looking for a competent and reliable electrician to join our team, working primarily on solar PV installations across residential projects.
This role is hands-on and site-based. It would suit someone who is confident in their electrical ability, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable working in a small, fast-moving business where standards matter.
You will be involved in the installation, testing and commissioning of solar PV systems, along with associated electrical works. While prior solar experience is helpful, it is not essential. We are more interested in solid electrical fundamentals and a willingness to learn.
What you’ll be doing
Installing and connecting solar PV systems Carrying out testing, inspection and commissioning in line with current regulations Fault finding and resolving electrical issues efficiently on site Ensuring all work is compliant with BS 7671 and relevant health and safety requirements Supporting with general electrical works related to renewable installations Working alongside roofers and other trades to deliver complete installations Keeping clear records of works completed, materials used and any issues encountered
What we’re looking for
Qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) 18th Edition (BS 7671) Experience in installation and testing of electrical systems Confident fault-finding ability Able to work independently and take ownership of jobs Practical, organised and detail-focused Full UK driving licence
Strongly desirable
Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems (or willingness to undertake this shortly after joining) Solar PV installation experience 2391 Inspection & Testing Manual Handling certification Working at Height certification Asbestos Awareness certification Experience working on domestic and/or small commercial sites
