The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Electrician to join a Facilities Management team delivering essential services within a secure custodial environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational, supporting a secure and well-maintained environment for staff and residents. You will work on a long-term, stable contract maintaining critical infrastructure across a large site. Weekend working: 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional 15% allowance of basic salary .

Key Responsibilities Carry out planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including associated administrative tasks Fault-finding and problem-solving on electrical systems across the site Complete like-for-like replacements and minor electrical works Conduct relevant electrical inspections and testing in accordance with BS7671 , ensuring results are accurately recorded Ensure all electrical systems remain safe, compliant, and fully functional Support the Responsible Person and Authorised Person when required Maintain strict compliance with Health & Safety standards, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work Assist with escorting duties and other operational tasks as required

What We're Looking For Essential: City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) BS7671 18th Edition (17th Edition considered with upskilling support) Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices Experience in planned and preventative maintenance Ability to work independently and use initiative Good organisational, time management, and interpersonal skills Comfortable working under pressure to deadlines Able to work at heights Basic IT skills Desirable: Knowledge of fire alarm and CCTV systems Experience working with electrical systems and compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations
