Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assembly Operator to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for a permanent position. This role is integral to the manufacture of high-quality products for the meteorological and commercial weather measurement markets. Contract Type: 6-month fixed term (potential for temp-to-perm) Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am - 3:45 pm; Friday, 7:00 am - 11:30 am Starting Salary: £24,800 (increasing to £25,100 upon successful completion of a 6-month probation period) Responsibilities As an Assembly Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the production of high-quality products. Your responsibilities will include: Assembling products using hand tools and assembly jigs. Conducting testing to specified parameters and recording results on works orders/lot cards. Identifying and recording non-conforming products. Performing quality inspections on your own work. Maintaining bench stock items and inspecting bench tools and manufacturing aids. Utilizing in-house PC systems for production processes. Adhering to standard construction and build times. Qualifications We are looking for candidates who possess the following: * Excellent dexterity and attention to detail. * A strong sense of pride in producing high-quality work. * Self-motivation, organization, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. * Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. * A positive, friendly attitude with a sense of humour. * Flexibility, common sense, and a methodical approach to tasks. Additional advantageous experience includes: * Soldering and wiring experience. * Previous electromechanical assembly experience using work instructions. * Familiarity with test equipment. * PC literacy with general numeracy and literacy skills. * Experience with manual handling. * Knowledge of ISO9001 standards, including ATEX and CSA procedures. Day-to-Day Your daily activities will involve: Assembling and testing products to meet high-quality standards. Recording and maintaining accurate production data. Inspecting your work to ensure compliance with quality standards. Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. Collaborating with team members to meet production goals.
