Job Description
Electronics Design Engineer – Contract (2–3 months, likely extension)
£400–450 per day – Ltd company friendly
Location: Bury St Edmunds area (hybrid flexibility)
We’re partnering with a leading technology manufacturer working at the forefront of robotics, automation and broadcast television. As they enter a busy phase of new product development, we’re looking for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join on a contract basis and support both ongoing R&D and updates to existing lines.
You'll be joining a highly skilled engineering team tackling complex design challenges across analogue, digital and embedded systems. This is a hands-on role where your work directly contributes to innovative, next- products used worldwide.
What you’ll be working on:
Designing and developing electronic circuits (analogue and digital)
Schematic capture and PCB layout for new and existing products
Microprocessor-based design and programmable logic work
Component-level programming and debugging
Electronics testing, validation and fault-finding
Supporting EMC, safety and environmental compliance activities
Contributing to product development planning, prototypes and design reviews
What we’re looking for:
Strong background in electronics design at circuit and PCB level
Experience with PADs, Mentor Graphics or similar tools
Comfortable working with microprocessors, programmable logic and embedded electronics
Solid fault-finding and test experience
Bonus: exposure to robotics, motion systems or motor control
Someone who enjoys solving technical challenges and contributing to real product innovation
This contract will run for an initial 2–3 months, with a strong expectation of extension as new projects progress. The role will be full time Mon-Fri onsite.
