A well-established global engineering manufacturer is looking to hire an Electronics Engineer to join its UK-based R&D and innovation team.
This is an opportunity to work on complex systems used in demanding industrial and technical environments. The role offers broad technical exposure, genuine ownership, and involvement across the full product lifecycle.
THE ROLE
You will join a multi-disciplined engineering team contributing to the design, development, and support of advanced electromechanical systems. The position is suited to an engineer who enjoys variety, technical depth, and responsibility rather than narrow or siloed work.
The role covers everything from early-stage design through to manufacturing support and in-service product support, working closely with mechanical, firmware, software, operations, and external suppliers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and analyse analog and digital electronics
*
Work with instrumentation, sensors, and signal conditioning systems
*
Contribute to system-level design involving control systems and data acquisition
*
Take ownership of defined electrical and electronic work packages
*
Prototype, test, and document designs
*
Review and validate outsourced designs such as PCB layouts and motor drives
*
Ensure compliance with safety, electrical, EMC, and regulatory standards
*
Support products through manufacturing and into service
*
Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams
*
Mentor and support junior engineers where required
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
*
Degree-qualified in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
*
Strong experience in analog and digital electronics
*
Background in instrumentation, control, or complex electromechanical systems
*
Understanding of closed-loop control theory
*
Awareness of power electronics and three-phase motor drives
*
Experience working across multiple stages of the product development lifecycle
*
Ability to demonstrate clear ownership and accountability within projects
*
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
*
Experience in capital equipment, industrial automation, robotics, or similar environments
*
Experience reviewing and validating outsourced PCB designs
*
Exposure to functional safety and regulatory compliance
*
Experience mentoring junior engineers
*
FPGA or VHDL experience is beneficial but not essential
