Job Title: Electronics Repair & Workshop Manager

Location: Colne, Lancashire

Salary:Circa £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience

Job Summary:

They areseekingan experienced and driven Electronics Repair & Workshop Manager to lead our bench repair operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics repair combined with proven management experience. This role is essential in overseeing day-to-day workshop activities, ensuring high-quality repair standards, and driving operational efficiency while supporting and developing the technical team.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a mature professionalseekinga permanent, long-term position within a growing company.

Duties:

  • Lead and supervise the bench repair team, ensuring productivity and quality standards are consistently met.

  • Ensurehigh standardsof testing, rework, and quality control aremaintainedacross the team.

  • Allocate workloads effectively andmonitorrepair turnaround times.

  • Maintainaccuraterecords of repairs, testing procedures, and maintenance performed.

  • Implement and improve repair processes to increase efficiency and reduce repeat faults.

  • Manage stock levels of PCBs, spare parts, and workshop consumables.

  • Providetechnical guidance, mentoring, and training to junior technicians.

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality control procedures.

  • Assistin the setup, configuration, and testing of PCBs and finished equipment asrequired.

  • Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth operational workflow.

Technical Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of electronic principles and circuit functionality.

  • Experience diagnosing faults to PCB or module level.

  • Confident in safely removing and replacing PCBs and electronic assemblies.

  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, test equipment, and diagnostic instruments.

  • Ability to carry out systematic fault diagnosis and functional testing.

Management & Leadership Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing or supervising a technical repair team.

  • Strong organisational and workload planning skills.

  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop team members.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Strong communicationskills with a professional and mature approach.

  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Significant experiencein electronic repair and maintenance.

  • Previousmanagement or supervisory experience in a technical environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a practical, hands-on approach.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
