Electrical circuitry and Surface Finishing - Chromium, Nickel Cadmium and Zinc NickelPrepare and mask up components during the pre-plating processSet up tooling, fixtures and assist in new tooling designUse a wide and varied range of precision measuring equipmentRead component maintenance manuals, complex drawings and engineering layout informationDiagnose vat, electrical or tooling malfunctions to determine need for adjustment or repairsAdhere to COSHH and safe use of chemicalsOperation of de-embrittlement and stress reliefUnderstanding and mapping of CMMCleaning, Masking, Heating and Waxing ComponentsCalculating plating thickness and plating timesMeasuring components using internal/external micrometers/comparators/bore micrometers/verniers/elcrometersMonitoring line to check vats are at correct temperature and rectifiers are at correct amperageGrit blasting, strip chrome, Shot peening, strip cad & strip sermetelWhat you'll need:Demontrable experience with plating (strongly desirable)Experience of working within a hands-on role within a precision production/manufacturing environemnt (essential)High attention to detail with strong quality awarenessExcellent communication skillsTeam working ethicsWilling to train and take on board new skillsAn understanding of Lean Sigma disciplines and 5s principlesYou will be required to work shift rotations comprising of Days, Lates, Nights and when required WeekendsAt Safran, we understand that diversity and inclusion make teams stronger and more effective, and as an organisation, we are committed to fair and equitable employment practices for everyone.We also know that some candidates may be put off applying for jobs where they don't meet 100% of the criteria outlined in the advert, however, we encourage you to apply if you can demonstrate a variety of skills and experiences relevant to the requirements of this role.We will consider all applicants who meet the minimum requirements regardless of their age, identity or background.
