This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe TMT Market Sector Lead EMEA is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for business growth. Provide leadership in business development, oversee pursuit activities to maximize capture rate on new work opportunities, and oversee delivery on the established portfolio for existing clients across the relevant technology markets in EMEA. The role focuses on current growth opportunities in the datacenters market while expanding operations into emerging and new TMT markets and clients, including new data centers, semiconductor facilities, media market, broadband infrastructure, and other opportunities relevant to technology market sector clients. The Market Sector Lead works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to continue growth in the region, drive our brand, and ensure project teams meet the highest technical standards for their respective industries. Leadership is a key skill needed in this role as we have truly global clients wanting a global HDR approach; to achieve this the leader will build and foster a collaborative environment within region teams and across our global TMT practice.Specific ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain an effective regional sector plan, including business development strategies, new business pursuits, monitor staffing levels, foster technical/specialty services, quality assurance program, production methods and standards, all within established goals and objectives of the company and business group.Drive Business Group and Market Sector coordination.Directly engage in client / account management for regional and global customers.Work cooperatively with other Regional Business Group Directors, Regional Operations Directors, Area Managers and Market Sector Directors to drive Business Group strategies in BES BG and support other BGs, support P&L performance, and support other initiatives in the EMEA.Coordinate with local operations / BES Area Business Group Managers (ABGM) around staffing needs including strategic recruiting.Actively partner with local Client/Account Directors on capture planning and client development plan meetings and activities.Drive regional strategic initiatives effort including brand awareness, IDE, market research, events, long‑term planning, partnerships, etc.Collaborate with the full TMT sector leadership team in the coordination and analysis of new markets and clients.Track sector financial performance in terms of bookings, earnings, profit, marketing costs, client investments / ROI, and related trends.Support the leadership of project delivery teams including Project Manager, Project Principal, Commercial Manager, etc.Collaborate with other HDR Business Groups to pursue and deliver the full breadth of HDR capabilities. In particular, focus on building strong relationships with HDR’s Architecture, Power and Water groups.Collaborate across regions (to include NA and APAC) to function as One‑HDR.Participate in all Matrix of Approval (MOA) functions and responsibilities defined by the UK and GAS protocol.Mentor Area Sector Leaders, Client/Account Directors/Managers and other key personnel within the TMT EMEA team.Assist and review risk management plans for project.Participate in Alternative Delivery risk reviews.Identify and prioritize strategic hires which includes an active involvement in the recruiting efforts.Review marketing forecasts (SNB and Booked) and staff alignment with backlog.Responsibilities for the annual planning and budgeting process.Add strong business skillset to the TMT EMEA team and support the interface with Operational Leadership via the ABGM’s.Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.Perform other duties as needed.Required QualificationsBS degree in a discipline related to the position.Minimum 10 years’ of experience in the Tech Industry including direct experience with datacenters and/or technology clients.Strong writing and communication skills.At least 10 years of industry experience.Experience in development and management of strategic marketing programs for architecture, engineering and/or planning services.Experience in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits.Experience in overall staff development to include recruiting, career path and professional growth.Experience with industry associations and maintains a visible profile in the market sector.Ability to work cooperatively with Area Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Director, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Managers.Demonstrated commitment to HDR values. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.Preferred QualificationsExperienced with Fortune 500 industry and Tech companies.Working knowledge of architectural and engineering principles as they apply to the built environment.Experience with construction activities.Knowledge of construction Health and Safety process and procedures.Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.Strong communication and collaboration skill.What We BelieveHDR is our company.
