I’m currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Emergency Lighting (EML) Engineer to join a well‑established team based in London. About the Role
In this position, you’ll be responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and fault‑finding of emergency lighting systems across a variety of commercial and residential properties. I’m looking for someone who can work confidently on their own, but also collaborate effectively as part of a wider team.
Key Responsibilities
As the Emergency Lighting Engineer, you will:
* Install, maintain, and repair emergency lighting systems in line with current regulations
* Carry out routine testing and inspections
* Diagnose faults and complete effective repairs
* Ensure all work is delivered safely and to a high standard
* Produce accurate reports and documentation following site visits
* Work independently and manage your time effectively
* Communicate professionally with clients and site staff
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
* Level 2 Electrical Installations (2365 or equivalent)
* Level 3 Electrical Installations (2365 or equivalent)
* Proven experience working with emergency lighting systems
* Experience with containment (tray, trunking, conduit, etc.)
* Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
* A full UK driving licence
Desirable Qualifications
It would be an advantage if you also hold:
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
* Electrical Testing & Inspection (2391 or equivalent)
