Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Compliance Engineer to join a highly technical engineering team working across a diverse portfolio of medium-duty engines. This role offers significant variety and complexity, covering engines ranging from 0.5L to 7.1L and supporting regulatory compliance across multiple global markets.

Unlike many engineering roles that focus on a single engine platform, this position provides exposure to multiple engine families and international emissions regulations, making it ideal for engineers who enjoy technical challenges and a broad scope of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support engine compliance activities across a wide range of engine platforms.

  • Ensure products meet global emissions and regulatory standards across multiple territories including North America, Europe, Asia, and South America.

  • Work closely with a team of engineers and technical leads to maintain compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Review and interpret emissions legislation and regulatory requirements.

  • Contribute to engineering processes and documentation supporting regulatory submissions and approvals.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure compliance is integrated into design and performance development.

Team Structure
  • Reporting to the Hiring Manager

  • UK team of 5 engineers (including this role)

  • Supported by an additional engineering team based overseas

  • Working alongside engineers and technical leads

Candidate Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an engineering role.

  • Strong technical knowledge of engines and engine performance.

  • Experience working within engine compliance or regulatory environments is highly desirable.

  • Understanding of emissions legislation and regulatory requirements.

  • Engineering degree or equivalent relevant qualification.

Industry Background

  • Experience in on-road or off-road engine applications preferred.

  • Confident communicator able to work effectively within a technical team.

  • Detail-oriented with a structured approach to engineering challenges.

Working Arrangement
  • Fully onsite role (5 days per week) in Peterborough.

  • Flexible start time between 08:00 – 09:00.

Typical Schedule

  • Monday – Thursday: 7.5 hours per day

  • Friday: 7 hours
