Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week

Location: Hybrid – Barrow LE12 8LD, Glenfield LE3 8JR and remote working

The role

We’re looking for an Employee Engagement Manager to help shape a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace across our manufacturing sites. With the majority of our employees working in factory and shift-based roles, this position is all about making engagement real, visible, and meaningful—not just a head-office initiative.

You’ll design and deliver engagement strategies that reflect the realities of a production environment, strengthen communication, reinforce our culture, and help ensure our people feel valued, listened to, and proud of where they work.

The main responsibilities include:

Employee Engagement & Listening

* Design, launch, and manage employee engagement surveys and pulse checks across factory and non-factory employees

* Analyse results, identify trends, and translate insights into practical, site-level actions

* Partner with leaders and site managers to close the feedback loop and communicate outcomes clearly

Culture & Communication

* Drive company culture initiatives that align with our values and resonate with a diverse, frontline workforce

* Develop simple, effective communication strategies for factory environments (toolbox talks, noticeboards, briefings, digital screens, etc.)

* Support leaders in building trust, visibility, and connection with team

Benefits & Recognition

* Review and continuously improve employee benefits to ensure they are competitive, relevant, and well understood

* Lead recognition programs including long service awards, milestone celebrations, and site-based recognition initiatives

* Ensure recognition programs are inclusive, consistent, and meaningful for shift and production workers

Manager & Leader Support

* Coach and support line managers on engagement best practices, employee feedback, and communication

* Provide guidance on improving team morale, retention, and engagement at site level

Retention & Experience

* Identify engagement-related drivers of turnover and absenteeism and recommend improvement strategies

* Support onboarding and induction experiences to ensure new employees feel welcomed, informed, and connected from day one

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

* Track engagement metrics and report regularly to HR and senior leadership

* Benchmark engagement practices and recommend new initiatives as the business grows

The business has grown rapidly from £5m in annual sales to £125m+ in the last 15 years with strong and consistent profitability. We have an ambition to increase sales to more than £200m+ in the next 3- 5 years. A clear Vision and Strategy has been articulated, and this is being backed with major capital investment and a renewal and upgrading of the people, processes, and systems.

Our brilliant benefits include free delicious bread, BUPA Cashback Plan, Death In Service, a Cycle to Work scheme and a chance to win a £10k worth prizes annually! Plus, if you refer a friend to join our team, you could earn up to £500!
