Job Description
Catalyst is partnering with a global, fast‑paced proprietary trading firm to appoint an HR Business Partner (Employee Relations Specialist). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping employee relations standards across APAC, Europe, and the US, supporting a business operating in a highly regulated and dynamic environment.
Acting as the regional and global go‑to for ER matters, you will work closely with leaders, managers, and cross‑functional teams to ensure people practices remain compliant, ethical, and aligned with the expectations of a world‑class trading organisation. This role suits someone who combines strong technical ER expertise with exceptional judgement, cultural awareness, and the ability to influence across multiple geographies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied and complex employee relations caseload, handling disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, performance issues, and sensitive matters across multiple regions.
- Support and advise on organisational change initiatives, including redundancies, restructuring, and international moves, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.
- Develop and deliver tailored manager training across APAC, Europe, and the US to strengthen ER capability and support consistent people practices.
- Create, harmonise, and implement robust HR and ER policies aligned with global regulatory standards and employment law requirements.
- Provide expert advice to leaders and managers on ER matters, offering pragmatic, business‑aligned solutions in a fast‑moving trading environment.
- Lead employment contract projects, ensuring terms are compliant, commercially sound, and reflective of multi‑region regulatory considerations.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure alignment with regulatory obligations and support the firm’s governance standards.
- Analyse global ER trends and metrics, identifying insights and recommending improvements to enhance the overall employee experience.
Desired experience:
- Strong background managing complex ER casework, ideally within trading, financial services, or similarly regulated global environments.
- Solid grounding in UK employment law, with awareness of APAC and US regulations advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to navigate sensitive and high‑stakes situations with discretion and professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate effectively with Legal, Risk, and Compliance functions.
- High emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, and the confidence to advise across multiple international markets.
- Experience coaching managers and building capability across diverse teams.
This is a unique opportunity to drive global ER excellence and play a pivotal role in shaping people processes for a high‑performance trading organisation.
