Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location: You will need a DRIVERS LICENCE AND ACCESS TO A VEHICLE as travel is required between sites across Southeast England.
A leading health and social care organisation is seeking a talented and experienced Employment Relations Advisor to join the team. The purpose of this role is to provide day‑to‑day guidance on employment relations matters and to manage investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, and performance management cases.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to organisational success by delivering expert HR advice and supporting key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and develop trusted relationships across the business at various levels through collaboration and credibility.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of case law, identify implications for current practices, and recommend improvements where relevant.
Provide specialist ER advice to stakeholders, including directors, managers, and staff, with a focus on maintaining excellent service standards.
Take ownership of employee relations cases-including grievances, disciplinaries, and appeals-ensuring thorough investigation, documentation, and resolution in line with legal and policy requirements.
Conduct formal hearings and prepare outcome letters in accordance with policies and legal compliance.
Lead or participate in specific projects such as policy reviews, process updates, Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), and compliance with the Employment Rights Bill 2025.
Lead on employee relations issues including performance improvement plans, sickness absence management and Occupational Health, escalating where required.
Provide advice on various types of leave including maternity, paternity, parental leave, and flexible working requests.
Compile and analyse HR management information.
Lead on TUPE and redundancy processes.
Act as the escalation point for complex or high‑risk ER cases, including those requiring legal involvement.
Update relevant HR systems.
Perform ad hoc duties as required.
About You
Proven track record of managing complex and high‑volume ER cases in a fast‑paced environment (health and social care experience desirable).
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Experience managing complex employee relations cases including grievances, disciplinaries, and sensitive investigations.
CIPD Level 5 qualification in Human Resource Management.
Minimum three years' experience in employment relations.
Strong HR environment experience with knowledge of HR systems and databases.
Competent use of Word (including mail merge), Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
Ability to take ownership and see tasks through to completion.
Adaptable, flexible, and innovative approach to work.
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
