Employment Tax Manager Based in London Hybrid role Paying up to £73k DOE
The Portfolio Group are proud to be working with a well-established professional services firm to recruit an experienced Employment Tax Manager. This is a key role supporting the delivery of both compliance and advisory work across a diverse client portfolio, with a strong focus on UK employment tax issues.
The position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded tax professional who is keen to take ownership, gain early responsibility and play a visible role within a developing team. You will be involved in high-profile and technically challenging work, collaborating closely with senior leaders and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
The Role
Managing the delivery of UK employment tax compliance services for a varied client base, including PAYE reviews, benefits reporting (P11Ds and PAYE Settlement Agreements) and CIS-related compliance. Overseeing employment-related securities compliance processes. Preparing clear, practical advisory advice on employment tax matters such as employment status, IR35/off-payroll working, termination payments, benefits-in-kind and share-based arrangements. Supporting senior stakeholders with complex advisory projects, identifying risks and opportunities and delivering pragmatic solutions. Keeping up to date with legislative changes and HMRC guidance, and sharing relevant insights with clients and colleagues. Attending client meetings, contributing to presentations and supporting training initiatives. Assisting with business development activity, including proposals, networking and identifying opportunities within existing client relationships. Coaching and supporting junior team members, helping to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with regulatory standards and deadlines.
Skills and Experience
Proven experience in employment taxes. ATT qualification (or equivalent). Experience dealing with HMRC. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Confidence using Excel to analyse and manipulate data. Well organised, motivated and able to take ownership of work. A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
