Overview We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to support mobilisation and transformation across a complex, multi-site Facilities Management contract. This role combines technical leadership with operational delivery. You will work closely with the existing team to improve performance, strengthen processes and ensure a consistent, high-quality engineering service across the estate. You will also play a key role in supporting the customer, providing clear reporting and helping shape a practical, sustainable engineering strategy. Main Duties You will lead and support engineering activity across the contract, including mobilisation, service improvement and day-to-day performance. Key responsibilities include:
Reviewing asset condition and supporting the development of lifecycle plans Assessing and improving Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes Strengthening work order management, including backlog and WIP control Supporting the effective use of CAFM systems, tools and asset data Leading customer reporting on engineering performance, risks and priorities Identifying issues and driving structured problem solving to resolution Supporting the team by providing clear direction, sharing knowledge and helping improve consistency in processes and standards across sites
What We Are Looking For You will bring strong engineering experience along with the ability to work across both strategic and operational levels. We are looking for someone who:
Has experience in a senior engineering role within Facilities Management or a similar environment Has supported mobilisation or service improvement activity Understands asset management, lifecycle planning and compliance Has experience with CAFM systems and performance reporting Can manage priorities, solve problems and support delivery under pressure
Just as important, you will be able to work effectively with people, build trust with customers and provide clear, practical leadership to engineering teams. A few questions to consider
