Engineering Estimator – Full-Time Role

Location: Ferndown Dorset
Hours: Monday–Thursday 07:30–16:30, Friday 07:30–12:30
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays

Actio Recruitment is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Estimator to join a modern, well-equipped CNC machine shop in Ferndown (Dorset). This is a full-time role offering stability, career growth, and the chance to work with a highly skilled team in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Preparing accurate quotations in a timely manner

* Interpreting detailed engineering drawings and understanding production methods

* Communicating effectively with customers and suppliers

* Collaborating with the team to deliver competitive pricing

* Applying knowledge of machining practices, CNC methods, and machine tool capabilities

* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements

What We’re Looking For

* Apprentice-trained, time-served engineer with hands-on manufacturing experience

* Strong knowledge of machining practices (turning and milling)

* Experience in CNC machining and working within quality-driven environments (AS9100 or similar)

* Ability to work independently, react quickly to business needs, and solve problems effectively

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)

* A proactive, flexible team player with a “can-do” attitude
