Job Title: Engineering Manager - Water (AMP8)\n\nLocation: South West (South West Water Region)\nStart Date: ASAP\nEmployment Type: Permanent\nWorking for a Tier 1 Contractor\n\nJob Overview:\n\nA Tier 1 contractor delivering key infrastructure under the AMP8 framework is looking to appoint an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the technical delivery of clean and wastewater projects for South West Water. This role is critical to ensuring the effective coordination of multi-disciplinary engineering teams and ensuring technical excellence across all project phases.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead and manage all engineering functions across the AMP8 portfolio for South West Water.\n\nOversee the design, technical review, and delivery of mechanical, electrical, civil, and process engineering works.\n\nAct as the primary point of contact for technical matters with the client, design teams, and delivery partners.\n\nEnsure technical compliance with all regulatory and contract requirements, including CDM, WIMES, and Water Industry standards.\n\nSupport planning, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.\n\nLead engineering governance, including design reviews, HAZOPs, and value engineering workshops.\n\nQualifications & Experience:\n\nDegree-qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent).\n\nChartered Engineer (CEng) or working toward chartership - desirable.\n\nProven experience as an Engineering Manager or Senior Engineer within the water sector, preferably on AMP frameworks.\n\nBackground working with or for Tier 1 contractors on water and utilities projects - essential.\n\nStrong technical leadership and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams.\n\nIn-depth knowledge of UK water industry standards, including WIMES, CDM Regulations, and DWI compliance.\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\n\nContract Details:\n\nStart Date: ASAP\n\nLocation: South West (covering South West Water projects)\n\nFramework: AMP8\n\nEmployment: Permanent\n\nRate/Salary: Competitive (Specify day rate or salary if required)\n\n--- Fusion People are committed to promoting equal opportunities to people regardless of , , , belief, , sexuality or .
