Exceptional Engineering Manager required to join our site leadership team here at Florette in Lichfield.
We have an opportunity for a proven leader to join our team on a permanent basis, leading our engineering agenda and joining us on our journey to take our engineering department from good to great!
You'll be a strategic, people focused manager with excellent leadership and communication skills. Working in collaboration with our senior management team you’ll ensure KPI delivery and oversee the continuous improvement of the department. You’ll be responsible for two direct reports, with their wider teams of a further 15 colleagues. You’ll have experience of creating effective tracking systems to ensure business KPI’s are met and will be apt at developing data systems to drive improvement activities. You’ll be responsible for the technical elements of our safety agenda, for the facilities management of our site and will have budgetary control.

The role works cross functionally to ensure the site leadership strategic goals are delivered in the short, medium and long term. As such, you’ll have demonstrable experience of successfully project managing multiple activities whilst maintaining a fixed eye on the future of the site and department. This role represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced, expert Engineering Manager to develop their career within a leader in the Fresh Produce industry.

Main Responsibilities
* Support the sites H&S agenda and support the H&S manager to ensure site is compliant against all relevant health and safety legislation.
* Work in conjunction with Facilities manager and Maintenance Manager to ensure all Engineering Health and Safety documentation and procedures from an engineering prospective across the site are adhered to and all the relevant documentation is up to date.
* Develop process and procedures within the department. Ensure department follows site policies and procedures and maintain department compliance records. Represent the department in all external audits.
* Lead and manage the wider engineering team to deliver people and site performance.
* Support the team with major issues, ensuring factory is brought back into service in a timely manner, and company procedures are followed.
* Develop the sites engineering strategy. Lead the implementation of all maintenance activities across site to deliver agreed levels of performance.
* Develop departments budget, ensuring correct level of resource is available to ensure departmental targets are met and site efficiencies are maintained at the required level. Manage and control expenditure within agreed targets.
Skills and Experience Required
* Previous experience in Engineering Management in FMCG high care/risk chilled or frozen food environment making customer branded product for the major multiples
* Qualifications: Engineering Degree.
* Computer literate, especially Excel with ability to interrogate data from systems.
* Project Management skills.

Florette is one of three UK food manufacturing sites within Agrial Fresh Produce Ltd, which is an autonomous part of the larger 17,500 employee strong French co-operative group, Agrial.
