Candidates MUST reside with in 20 miles from Gloucester We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Engineer / Site Manager to join a major retail development project in Gloucester, delivering key Section 278 highways and external infrastructure works. This is a night shift role overseeing critical access and highways improvements within a live environment. The Project The scheme involves:Construction of new access pointsJunction improvements and traffic signal installationsPedestrian crossingsDrainage, kerbing and surfacing worksExternal infrastructure and associated civilsSection 278 works linked to a large retail development The Role As the Night Shift Engineer / Site Manager, you will:Lead and supervise night shift operations on siteManage subcontractors and coordinate workforce activitiesEnsure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specificationOversee temporary traffic management in live highway environmentsMaintain site documentation, QA records, and daily reportingLiaise with local authority representatives and stakeholders as required RequirementsStrong background in Highways / Infrastructure CivilsProven experience delivering Section 278 worksExperience working in live traffic environmentsPrevious night shift management experience (desirable)SMSTS (preferred) or SSSTSValid CSCS Card £400 per day.
