Job Description

Maintenance Technician
Core Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and advanced troubleshooting/repairs on production and facility equipment; proactively identify and resolve recurring issues within the assigned area.

  • Conduct electrical and/or mechanical installation, repair, and troubleshooting of motors, instrumentation, and controls.

  • Identify equipment deviations and document/communicate findings in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Monitor and support contractors executing small maintenance projects.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations, including ATEX, GMP, AIB, OSHA, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and internal safety guidelines.

  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.

  • Maintain housekeeping, sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety standards in line with company requirements.

  • Perform administrative tasks, including creating and closing work orders in the Maintenance Management System (SAP).

  • Support the Maintenance Lead/Supervisor in delivering technical training and tracking work order completion.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Academic Background

  • Vocational diploma in Technical Engineering or a related discipline (pre-university level).

  • Valid forklift certification required.

  • Certification in at least one of the following areas:

    • Pipefitting

    • Welding

    • Pumps

    • PLC

    • Electrical systems

    • Robotics

    • Equipment repair

Professional Experience

  • 5-6 years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations (experience in a matrix organization preferred).

  • Up to 1 year of people management experience is desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) rules and regulations.

  • Basic working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel.

  • Proficient in safely using hand tools and equipment for installation, disassembly, and testing of electronic, pneumatic, and electrical devices.

  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical skills (e.g., welding, plumbing, pipefitting, electrical systems).

  • Ability to read, sketch, redline machine and process drawings, and write clear, concise technical instructions.
