English Teacher (Phonics & Reading) – Gateshead

Are you a passionate and dedicated English teacher with experience in phonics and reading, looking for an exciting opportunity in a supportive secondary school? We are seeking an English teacher to join a well-established school in the Gateshead area, the role is to begin at Easter 2026 and is ongoing.

The Role:

✅ Teaching English to KS3 and KS4 students ✅ Planning and delivering engaging lessons that inspire and challenge pupils ✅ Assessing and tracking student progress ✅ Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment ✅Working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Maths curriculum

The Ideal Candidate:

✔  Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or relevant qualification ✔  Experience teaching English at secondary level ✔  Strong classroom management skills ✔  Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities
