We are looking to appoint a passionate and dynamic Teacher of English to join a thriving secondary school in Lewes. This is a full-time position available for an immediate start. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality English Language and Literature lessons and supporting students to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities may be available)

Plan creative and engaging lessons that stretch and challenge learners

Use assessment effectively to track progress and raise attainment

Contribute to a collaborative and forward-thinking English department

Support students of varying abilities, including those with additional needs

Play an active role in the wider life of the school community

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Has a degree in English or a related discipline

Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for literature and language

Creates a positive, inclusive, and purposeful classroom environment

Has high expectations for student achievement and behaviour

Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and parents
