A secondary school in Southwark is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join their successful department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential to teach Key Stage 5.
The Role
You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Create a challenging and inclusive learning environment
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
- Support pupils in achieving strong academic outcomes
- Contribute to curriculum development and schemes of work
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
- Participate in parents' evenings, meetings, and school events
- Support extra-curricular English activities
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in English or a related subject
- Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to use data to inform teaching and interventions
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to raising attainment and student progress
Desirable
- Experience teaching KS5
- Experience delivering GCSE English Language and Literature
- Involvement in curriculum development or extra-curricular xbpsjku activities
