English Teacher - SEMH School

We are seeking a passionate and resilient English Teacher to join our specialist SEMH school. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will deliver engaging, adaptive English lessons that re-engage learners, build confidence, and support strong academic and personal progress.
Working within a supportive and trauma-informed environment, you will play a key role in raising standards of literacy while promoting emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and high aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver differentiated English lessons across KS3 and KS4, tailored to meet individual learning and SEMH needs.
Build strong, trusting relationships that support engagement, attendance, and progress.
Use adaptive teaching strategies to support students with EHCPs and additional learning needs.
Monitor and track student progress, implementing targeted interventions where required.
Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, SEN staff, and external professionals. The Successful Candidate Will:

Hold QTS (essential).
Have experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
Have experience working with SEND and/or SEMH learners (desirable).
Be patient, resilient, and committed to inclusive education.
Demonstrate strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
