ANZUK Education is working with a high-performing, inclusive secondary school for students aged 11–18, located in North London. The school has a strong reputation for academic excellence and was recognised as Outstanding across all areas in its most recent inspection, including quality of education, behaviour, and leadership. They are looking for an English teacher to join their team from April onwards. This full-time position offers the opportunity to impart a love of the subject while ensuring that students are able to achieve to the best of their potential across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The curriculum is broad, ambitious, and designed to develop confident, articulate, and independent learners. Alongside strong academic outcomes, the school places a clear emphasis on personal development, wellbeing, and student leadership, ensuring pupils are well-prepared for further education and future careers

Key Responsibilities of an English Teacher

* Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire a love of literature and language

* Teach a broad English curriculum, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills

* Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback

* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and high prior attainment

* Prepare students for internal and external examinations, ensuring strong academic outcomes

* Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and excellent behaviour

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or another recognised teaching qualification.

*

Be a confident ECT or experienced Teacher with English teaching specialism.

*

Demonstrate strong subject knowledge of the English National Curriculum and GCSE syllabus.

*

Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, attainment and behaviour.

*

Maintain exemplary commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

*

Collaborate effectively with other staff for the benefit of students.
