English Teacher Opportunity | Kendal

Location: Kendal

Pay: £130 - £240 per day (depending on experience)

Role: English Teacher (KS3 & KS4) / ECT English Teacher

Contract: Full-Time, starting after Easter until the end of the Summer Term

The Opportunity

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a supportive Secondary School in the scenic town of Kendal.

This is a fixed-term placement starting immediately after the Easter break and running through to the end of the academic year in July. It is a fantastic opportunity to provide stability for students during the critical summer term, whether you are an experienced practitioner or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain a full term of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and mark lessons: Deliver creative and challenging lessons covering English Language and Literature.
• Exam Preparation: Support Year 11 students through the final stretch of their GCSEs and oversee Key Stage 3 assessments.
• Behaviour Management:Confidently manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a focused and respectful environment where every student can excel.
• Departmental Contribution: Work collaboratively with the English faculty to ensure a strong finish to the school year.

Requirements & Skills

We are looking for a subject specialist who can hit the ground running after the holidays.

• Qualifications: You must hold a University Degree and a recognised Teaching Qualification (QTS/PGCE).
• Experience: Proven classroom-based experience teaching English in a UK Secondary School is essential.
• Transferable Skills: Excellent communication, strong subject knowledge, and the ability to build rapport quickly with students mid-year.
