The Role English Teacher
As an English Teacher, you will:
Deliver a rigorous and well-sequenced English curriculum across KS3 and KS4
Teach a range of literature, poetry and non-fiction texts while developing strong analytical and writing skills
Foster a love of reading and confident written and verbal communication
Use assessment effectively to identify misconceptions and address gaps in learning
Adapt teaching to support pupils with SEND and those new to English
Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic engagement
Contribute to curriculum development within the English department
The Ideal English Teacher Will Have:
QTS and a strong academic background in English Literature, English Language or a related subject
Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
High expectations for achievement and behaviour
Confidence using assessment to inform planning, with familiarity with exam boards such as AQA and Edexcel
Commitment to inclusion and equal access for all pupils
Clear communication and strong classroom presence
