The Opportunity: Long Term Futures are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher with QTS to join a well-established and inclusive secondary school in the Sutton area from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, within a supportive department that values high academic standards, creativity, and strong pupil engagement. The school has a positive learning culture and is committed to raising attainment and fostering a love of reading and writing.
Your Key Responsibilities: * Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons across KS3 & KS4 * Prepare pupils effectively for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations * Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress in line with departmental expectations * Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment * Support pupils with varying learning needs, including SEN where required * Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning * Build strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues
Requirements: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential * Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school * Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature * Effective classroom and behaviour management skills * Reflective, adaptable, and student-focused approach * Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and high academic standards
