Enterprise Architect – Central Government

A global systems integrator is continuing to invest heavily in its UK Public Sector practice and is looking to appoint an experienced Enterprise Architect with a strong track record delivering into Central Government. This is a key strategic role where you will shape and lead architecture across large-scale transformation programmes, working at the forefront of digital change within government.

The Role

You will operate as a senior architectural leader, responsible for defining enterprise-wide technology strategies and shaping solutions for complex programmes and major bids.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will ensure alignment with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and the DDaT framework, while driving innovation through modern architectural approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise architecture across major Central Government programmes
• Define and shape end-to-end technology strategy and solution architecture
• Ensure alignment with GDS standards and DDaT principles
• Engage with C-suite and senior stakeholders across government departments
• Support and lead solution shaping for large, complex transformation deals
• Design scalable architectures across cloud, integration, and data platforms
• Promote Green Software principles and Composable Architecture approaches
• Collaborate with delivery teams to develop pragmatic, implementable solutions
• Mentor and develop architecture and engineering teams

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect within UK Central Government
• Strong understanding of GDS standards and the DDaT framework
• Experience shaping technology strategy for large-scale transformation programmes
• Solid knowledge of cloud platforms, integration technologies, and data governance
• Experience engaging and influencing senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder management across complex, multi-party environments
• Experience working with offshore or distributed delivery models is beneficial
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams

Location: London / Hybrid

Salary: £100,000 – £125,000 + Bonus + Benefits
