Enterprise Security Architect
Location: Basingstoke, London or Oldbury / Hybrid (3 days a week on site)
Salary: Competitive with strong bonus and benefits
Reporting to: Chief Architect
We’re working with a household-name UK organisation as they undergo a wide-reaching transformation – across technology, architecture, and ways of working. As part of this journey, they’re looking for an Enterprise Security Architect to play a pivotal role in modernising how security is delivered across the business.
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of security, architecture, and delivery, focused on embedding modern security principles – like Zero Trust, secure by design, and cloud-native patterns– into large-scale transformation programmes.
What you’ll be doing
- Partnering closely with the Chief Architect, CISO, and security engineering teams to design and assure modern, secure solutions across cloud, data, infrastructure, and identity.
- Shaping the security architecture strategy, roadmaps, and frameworks – always with a focus on delivery and commercial impact.
- Influencing the design of security services and technologies using Azure, Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, and more.
- Contributing to broader enterprise architecture governance – participating in design authorities, guiding solution architects, and promoting consistency and alignment.
- Driving the evolution of the organisation’s security capabilities, helping address legacy technical debt while enabling modern platforms, tooling, and TOMs.
What they’re looking for
- A senior security architect with hands-on experience designing and assuring secure systems in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud security (especially Azure), Zero Trust, and modern security engineering practices.
- Credibility to influence at senior levels (CISO, CIO, Heads of Department), with clear communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to work across architecture and engineering teams – balancing governance with delivery.
- Familiarity with relevant frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CISSP-ISSAP) and enterprise architecture methods (e.g., TOGAF).
Why this role?
- Strategic visibility – You’ll be embedded into high-priority programmes with access to senior leadership and real influence on outcomes.
- Modern tooling & mindset – Cloud-first, Microsoft-led, security-as-enabler, not blocker.
- Collaborative culture – Architecture team of 25+, flat structure, open to challenge and fresh thinking.
- Autonomy & impact – Shape how security is delivered at scale, with trust and space to lead.
If you’re passionate about making security smarter, more effective, and truly embedded into how a business operates – this is your chance to make a meaningful difference.
