Environment & Sustainability Advisor
New Today
Job Description
Climate17 is delighted to be working with an established, successful engineering business headquartered in Southampton as they look to recruit an Environmental and Sustainability Advisor to join the business and work on a range of projects across the South of the UK.
Based in the SHEQ Team, you will support projects through investigating environmental incidents on sites, ensuring environmental compliance in line with ISO14001 and embedding sustainability initiatives across the projects and internally within the business. You will be delivering training to different groups and it’s expected you will have prior construction experience as you’ll regularly liaise with teams on site. Indeed, your written and verbal communication skills will be excellent, as you will be producing reports and liaising with stakeholders both internally and externally, of all levels so your ability to adapt your language and approach depending on your audience will be important.
The business is currently in the process of modernising a number of systems and procedures so you will be able to get involved with this and ensuring sustainability initiatives are considered and implemented. And from a sustainability perspective, you will support greenhouse gas data management and Scope 1-3 reporting and you will engage with clients and supply chain partners to encourage sustainability best practice and it’s expected you will contribute to tender submissions.
With regards the external projects, it would be advantageous if you have experience of working in the water sector as water framework projects, in addition to other large infrastructure projects including defence and energy. You will be comfortable managing a number of projects at any one time, so will be organised and calm under pressure.
It’s expected you’ll hold a degree in a relevant environmental or engineering related subject and will be a member of ISEP or CIWEM.
You will need to attend the offices a couple of days a month and the sites are based on the South Coast, so you’ll most likely live within an hour or so and you will hold a valid driving licence. As you’ll be working on site, it would be beneficial if you hold a CSCS Card although one could be obtained for you.
So, if you believe you have the relevant skills and experience and you’d like to find out more, please contact Katie on katie@climate17.com to find out more.
