Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Energy from Waste company to recruit an Environmental Partner for a hybrid role working across their EfW fleet.\n\nThe Environmental Business Partner role comes with a starting salary of up to £70,000 + car allowance + benefits.\n\nIf you're a subject matter expert in Environmental and Sustainability strategy in a similar industry then upload your CV to apply today.\n \n Responsibilities and duties of the Environmental Business Partner \n\nAs the Environmental Business Partner, you will:\n\nLead the implementation of the organisation's Environmental and Sustainability Strategy across operational sites.\nAct as the subject matter expert on environmental compliance, regulations, and best practice.\nSupport operational leaders with environmental risk assessments, improvement planning, and mobilisation activities.\nMonitor emerging legislation, industry standards, and innovations, translating them into practical operational guidance.\nLead or support external audits and contribute to environmental reporting for stakeholders and regulators.\nConduct incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions.\nDeliver tailored environmental training to teams across the business.\nSupport bids, proposals, and business development activities with environmental insight and compliance planning.\nUndertake internal audits and reviews to ensure continuous adherence to regulatory and corporate standards.\nDrive proactive sustainability initiatives and contribute to the ongoing improvement of environmental management systems.\n Professional qualifications\n We are looking for someone with the following:\n\nDegree in an environmental or sustainability-related field.\nChartered status with a recognised environmental institution (or actively working towards it within 12 months) - highly desirable\nSignificant experience in environmental compliance and sustainability within a complex, operational environment.\nDemonstrated ability to design, implement, and embed compliance frameworks and best-practice standards.\nExperience delivering training, producing clear reporting, and supporting bid or project mobilisation activities. \n\nPersonal skills\n\nStrong communication, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.\nProactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.\nResilient, collaborative, and commercially aware, able to balance regulatory demands with operational needs.\n\nSalary and benefits of the Environmental Business Partner role:\n\nSalary of between £50,000 - £70,000\nBenefits including bonus & car allowance\nOpportunity to join leading Energy from Waste company \n INDPOW\n\nAstute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
