We are recruiting an experiencedHSE Manager / SHEQ Managerto leadHealth, Safety and Environmental managementacrossmulti-site Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and renewable energy operations.

This is a senior, hands-on role suited to aHealth & Safety, Environmental or SHEQ leaderwith experience inanaerobic digestion, biogas, renewable energy, utilities or process industry environments.

Youll work closely with operational leadership teams to ensureHSE compliance, environmental performance and safety cultureare embedded across high-risk, industrial sites.

Key responsibilities

Health & Safety Management

• Lead and maintainHealth & Safety management systems (ISO 45001)

• Manage risk assessments,HAZOPs, Safe Systems of Work and permits

• Lead audits, inspections and accident / incident investigations

• Deliver H&S training and toolbox talks to site teams

• Monitor HSE KPIs and report performance to senior management

• Ensure emergency response and business continuity plans are robust

Environmental Management

• Maintain compliance withenvironmental permits and licences

• Manage environmental monitoring (emissions, odour, digestate, waste, noise)

• Lead investigations into environmental incidents and breaches

• Drive continuous improvement inenergy efficiency and carbon reduction

• Act as key contact for theEnvironment Agencyand regulators

• SupportISO 14001and sustainability initiatives

Leadership & Governance

• Lead and manage a team ofSHEQ Advisorsacross multiple sites

• Ensure consistent application ofHSE / SHEQ standards

• Oversee contractor and visitor H&S compliance

• Maintain audit-ready policies, procedures and records

• Represent HSE at senior leadership and operational meetings

What were looking for

• NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6)in Health & Safety

• Chartered IOSH(or working towards)

• Proven experience in aHealth & Safety, Environmental or SHEQ leadership rolewithin:

  • Anaerobic Digestion (AD)

  • Biogas

  • Renewable Energy

  • Utilities

  • Process / manufacturing / high-risk industrial environments

• Experience managingmulti-site operations

• Strong knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation

• Hands-on experience withISO 45001 and ISO 14001

• Practical, solutions-focused approach

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
